The company that exploits casinos, Holland Casino, will keep its monopoly in Netherlands, and their Government is not obligated to allow other casinos to open within the national territory.
That is according to the recent ruling by the Advisory Council, in response to a claim presented by the French company that exploits the Tranchant casinos. That company had many ambitious plans to open several casinos in the lucrative territory of Netherlands, whose population is very much in love with chance games.
In the year 2006, Holland Casino, had incomes for over 720 million euros and they do not want foreign competition. Therefore, the French group Tranchant presented a claim that resulted favorable according to the decision of the court of the city of Breda. However, after an appeal, the Advisory Council has ruled in favor of the Dutch company, and forbade the settlement of French gambling rooms in the country.
