The second edition of the Croupier Championship in Spain will take place on February 6 to 7 2008 at Casino Torrequebrada. The first and second best croupiers in the final tournament will represent Spain in the next European Championship, which will be held in Venice.
The croupier works for the casino, both distributing the game –like throwing the ball in roulette or dealing cards in blackjack- and taking care of payments. A good croupier makes sure games are played by the rules. Croupier tasks are mechanical, all clearly established.
A person with a good croupier profile is friendly and kind, self-confident and formally dressed. Interpersonal skills are important, and also giving an impression of authority. Croupiers are evaluated by the way they control the game, but also by their technical and communications skills.
The Torrequebrada Casino is located between Malaga and Marbella, in the middle of Costa del Sol. It opened its doors on April 1st, 1979 and it is still considered one of the best tourist venues in the area, with a variety of attractions and entertainment offered to visitors.
