Professional blackjack player and strategy creator Andrew Johnson also known as AJ just launched his winning blackjack course at his own website.

Smoking Bans

CALGARY - Premier Ralph Klein says smoking bans are "useless," advancing the argument on Wednesday that people in provinces with restrictions aren´t healthier than those elsewhere.
Speaking to reporters in Calgary, Klein stood by his refusal last week to enact a provincewide ban on smoking in workplaces, including bars, casinos and bingo halls, saying Albertans choose where they work.

Blackjack is back

New Year´s Blackjack Challenge

A lucky blackjack player will have a chance to win $1 million in Resorts Atlantic City's $1 million Blackjack Challenge on New Year's Day.

Through Jan. 1, table-game players can earn entries to be selected as one of six people to compete for the big prize at 10:30 that night.

Customers can earn entries in the following ways: any blackjack at blackjack and Spanish 21; any winning proposition bet or field bet at craps; any winning tie bet at baccarat and mini baccarat; a flush or better at pai gow poker, Let-it-Ride or Caribbean stud; if the ball drops into any red number, zero or double zero at roulette; any pair plus winner at 3 Card Poker; or any bonus winner at Boston 5 stud poker.

Since her appearances on the Game Show Network's "World Series of Blackjack", Midland resident Regina Guzior has a few aces up her sleeve for 2005.

Finishing in fifth place, she came away as the series' top female player, which left an impression on the entertainment community.

The show's producers invited her back for "World Series of Blackjack 2" to broadcast early next year on Charter Communications Channel 65. It finished taping in November in Las Vegas...

Prairie Meadows Scales Back Expansion

The Des Moines Register, citing marketing director Tom Manning, reported that the Altoona casino will ask state regulators next month to approve a $60 million expansion. That's down from a $110 million plan outlined last summer.

The latest plan includes room for an additional 30 table games and 500 new slot machines. But a 200-room hotel and parking garage are not included.
